The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council is a public, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that works collaboratively with the community, government agencies, local officials and businesses to improve and protect the health of the Kalamazoo River, its tributaries, and its watershed. The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council is the assumed name of this organization, which was incorporated under the name of the Kalamazoo River Watershed Public Advisory Council. The KRWC evolved from the Kalamazoo River Area of Concern (AOC) Public Advisory Council (founded in 1993), and continues to serve as liaison between the public and government agencies involved in the AOC process.
